digit digit (2021)

digit digit is a multidisciplinary performance project carving space for asian diasporic experiences through a deconstructed dim sum experience. “digit digit” merges VR, movement, and interactive theatre.  Sourcing surveillance aesthetics and dining ceremony, “digit digit” invites audiences to consider food as a meeting place to broach topics of culture, race, migration, and memory. Scheduled for completion in 2021.

“was it the smell of solitude” is the newest large-scale multimedia dance project by Hong Kong Exile and led by choreographer Natalie Tin Yin Gan. Blending movement, set design, and live-manipulated digital light and sound, this project reflects three challenges we are tackling for the first time in company history: custom-designing a motorized lighting grid as an extension of choreography, creating work for a large ensemble, and engaging performers traditionally outside of the contemporary performance community. solitude is an interdisciplinary exploration of the Chinese custom of death as an active place of sounds, smells and stories.

was it the smell of solitude is expected to premiere in early 2021.
